Flesh Robots

In N.E.R.D.'s latest single, "Hot-N-Fun", Pharrell Williams makes the statement,

To a new day
People don't want to think no more, they just want to feel
They just want to let go

I could not agree more with this statement, even though I think Pharrell and I are coming from two different points of view. He is fine with it because, for him, less thought translates into more music sales. However, for me, I am living in a world full of ROBOTS!!! Flesh robots, of course, but robots none-the-less. You have to bear with me for a bit because I think I can make, at least, a decent case that most people (maybe even you) are robots.

Merriam-Webster's Online Dictionary defines robot as: a machine that looks like a human being and performs various complex acts (as walking or talking) of a human being.
Dictionary.com says: a machine that resembles a human and does mechanical, routine tasks on command
You might ask, how can a human being be a robot? Well, it's just like Pharrell said, "People don't want to think". They look like human beings, but they perform tasks on command and do what they are commanded. For instance, have you ever known a nice young lady or young man who, for the most part, acted decently and respectfully until their favorite song came on in the club? As soon as the young lady hears Lil Jon's "Get Low" in the club she is droppin', poppin', and getting low. Or, the young man hears a song telling him to put his middle finger in the air and suddenly he is flipping the whole club the bird. You may even have been watching T.V. and seen a Popeye's commercial, and suddenly you turn to a friend and say, "man, I want some fried chicken."

Have you ever caught yourself singing a song that you don't even like and wondered why you were even singing it? Maybe, even later you figured that you did like the song after running it through your head so many times! This is the programming that takes place when human beings transform into robots! The programming does not care what you want to or don't want to do. It doesn't care what you like or don't like. It makes you do, not do, like, or don't like whatever it wants you to. Scary? It should be! Because the only way to escape the programming is to turn off the program. However, this tends to be the hardest part.

There are so many ways to be programmed because we are constantly being fed information. Whether voluntary or involuntary, you will receive information. I know people who listen to music almost every second of the day! They wake up and their alarm clock is the radio or a song on their phone. They take a shower and they listen to music in there. They go to work or school and they listen to the radio or a cd in their car. If they ride the bus, they listen to their ipod on the way. They get to work or school and they have music on their computer. They get home from work and they watch music videos. They go to sleep with headphones on. Now, this is the most extreme situation, but most people can relate in some way. We have phones that are created for the sole purpose of listening to music.

Don't get me wrong, music is not the only way of being programmed. Of course all the images and thoughts that are funneled into your brains' using the t.v. and the advertisements you constantly see in magazines, on billboards, and just about anywhere you go, play a big part in the process. Not to mention movies like Transformers, Terminator, I,Robot, and even the kids' Disney movie Wall-E that make us numb to the idea of robot existence. In fact, they attempt to personify robots and give them human emotions, slowly skewing the line between humans and robots. I just tend to focus on music because it is the strongest and most prominent form of programming that you can find. As a matter of fact, some of the programming is blatant and right in front of your face, but you are so programmed that you do not even realize it.

For example, have you ever seen the video for "I Can Transform Ya" by Chris Brown feat. Lil Wayne with the Transformers theme? The words may seem to focus on transforming a woman from a lowly lifestyle to a fancier one, but pay really close attention. They are really talking about how they will transform you from a human into a robot.

What about "Universal Mind Control" by Common feat. Pharrell where Common proclaims, "some pop, some lock, some move robotic"? Did you notice the I,Robot theme?

What about Rihanna's performance at the Echo awards along side two robots?

Think about the craze that T-Pain started by using auto tune to make his voice sound robotic. Everyone from Lil Wayne to Kanye West to Beyonce and many more have used this sound since.

The entertainment industry is slowly trying to condition society to the idea of being robotic and mechanic in order to control your mind. They want to tell you to do anything they want without you challenging or having a strong stance against it. This way they can take your money without you even desiring to give it up. How many people do you know that actually study and research the information that they receive in school? Do you? Probably not. You probably assume that since it's in a text book or because someone with a Ph.D. said it, it must be true. Do you really understand the world you live in or do you just think you understand? Think about what Pharrell said in "Hot-N-Fun" and consider if it's you that he is talking about. Most people only live for their next moment of pleasure. They don't think, they just want to feel. They just do what society tells them to do through music, television, movies and advertisements. This is dangerous because while your mind is being controlled, things are going on in the world that you don't see and don't notice. Romans 12:2 says, "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind..." If you don't, when you do realize what is happening, you might look around and see nothing but a world full of flesh robots.
